Hey Single Parents,

Do you sometimes feel that because you do not have a spouse you are suddenly part of an alien-nation? Well this website doesn't discriminate because you are single. We want to help you not only earn all the discounts and make the best use of coupons as anyone else but we want to help you make good use of your time while doing it. I, for one, understand that somehow a single parents time is way more fractured than that of a two-parent home so here are some things you can do to save time AND money:

1. You have children! Use them. Even the youngest can clip coupons. Make it a Sunday after church family activity. Pop in a good old movie and everyone can sit around the coffee table and clip coupons. Basically this consists of clipping straight lines. Guess what? For the youngest it helps in developing fine motor skills. Who cares if they are perfect? As long as the important info stays in tact.

2. When you go shopping let the kids find the product pictured on the coupon (IF they didn't clip the picture off!!).

3. Always try to go to the stores you pass each day on the way to work or at convenient times. Maybe you have 30 minutes between work and needing to pick up a child: Use that time to go shopping!!!

4. Let the kids help you make a menu each week (if you don't use the menus under your site membership). Most of the time children have a good idea of what they want AND they tend to want the cheaper foods, as well as this will spark your imagination for other ideas.

I hope to see you regularly here on our site!! If you have any comments, ideas, or just good ole' compliments, send them our way!!

Blessings,

Jennifer

Other time-savers for all parents:

Teach younger kids to put away the smaller non-perishable grocery items AND how to restock little items like tissue, toilet paper, paper towels and soap when they run out.

Put a small toy box or basket in every room so little ones can pick-up as they play.

Have 15 minutes of clean-up every night before bath time - EVERYONE helps!

Children need to feel useful and they need that great feeling of accomplishment as well -- they cannot get that from watching TV or playing video games!
